Transportation 101

Amsterdam has a great tram, subway and bus system.

Via bicycle is the most practical and popular way to get around.

From the airport to the city center (Amsterdam Central Station), there is a train that runs very regularly, takes 15-20 minutes and costs around $5.00.

A taxi from the airport is about $48.00 and takes about 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Conexxion shuttle busses at the airport stop at 100 hotels.

The airport is 8.6 miles from Amsterdam city center.

Parking is tricky in the city, so it’s best not to have a car.

Taxis may be hailed on the street or found at one of more than 50 official taxi ranks located around the city. Otherwise, you can always call one from a hotel or restaurant.
