It’s one of the city’s hidden gems, and probably its worst-kept secret. Thank goodness for that. Lithuanian Hall, a venue in the Hollins Market neighborhood of West Baltimore, was built in the 1920s as a cultural center for Baltimoreans of Lithuanian heritage, and now features a museum, library and athletic club accessible during the day. But on the last Friday night of every month, the space transforms into Baltimore’s most popular dance party—a vintage rock ‘n’ roll event the locals lovingly call “Save Your Soul.” Five dollars (cash only) gets you into the party, which features local DJs putting a modern twist on rock music by mixing in pop, reggae and other genres. Come early, as the space can begin to fill up as early as 10 p.m. And don’t miss your chance to try the featured house drink, a delectable honey-flavored liquor called viryta.
