About a half-hour south of Baton Rouge, in St. Francisville, is the Myrtles Plantation, which is considered one of America’s most haunted homes. Built around 1796 by General “Whisky” David Bradford, the home lets you experience the romance—and mystery—of the South. Drop by on a Friday or Saturday night for one of the mystery tours. There is also an 11-room bed and breakfast on site for those who want to have as much of a “close encounter” as possible.
