Type:  Neighborhoods & Districts

Once a seedy industrial wasteland, the area along the Platte River now known as LoDo has been completely revitalized and is teeming with young hipsters looking for action. More than 20 percent of the original buildings were razed to make way for new development; the rest were restored. Imposing Union Station now anchors a stretch of upscale boutiques, restaurants, bars and day spas. The strip of colorful galleries along Wazee Street is fun to check out; there always seems to be an art walk or gallery opening happening. A trolley takes you from one end of LoDo to the other, and you can hop on and off at will.
