Patrick Dempsey made himself at home in London while filming Bridget Jones’s Baby, which premieres this month. In the third movie of the beloved franchise, Dempsey takes on the role of a new suitor of Jones’, played by Renée Zellweger. During breaks from shooting, Dempsey lived like a local. “My daughter loves high tea, so when my family came to visit, I put together a beautiful tea set,” he says. Thanks to his relationship with Porsche—Dempsey has a successful side career racing sports cars—he also got a loaner Panamera GTS to experience London from behind the wheel. “It was remarkable how many vintage cars I saw,” he says. “I was blown away by what was on the road—a lot of stuff that you wouldn’t think you’d see people use as a daily driver.”

The Portobello Hotel
“This boutique hotel is a great place to stay.” It was converted from two neoclassical mansions and overlooks the charming Stanley Gardens.

This Notting Hill spot serves Pan-Asian fare made for sharing, including dim sum, sushi and BBQ roasts. “Very delicious food. I went here a lot.”

Henry Gregory
“I got games and toys for my kids [at this antiques and vintage shop]. It was great to get toys that were nostalgic to my childhood—and to move away from electronics.”

The Portobello Antique Store
“There are several silver shops in the area, but I mostly bought from here, including a silver breakfast tray for my wife and a tea set for my daughter.”
