Curtis Stone's Favorite Summer Hangouts

The Hall Courtyard Brasserie

Seared skate with haricots vert and potatoes.

My American home is LA, which is the ultimate city for 365 days of summer. When I’m home, I crave the French bistro menu at The Hall Courtyard Brasserie. The former chef, Brendan Collins, was my sous chef at Marco Pierre White’s Quo Vadis in England. The Hall—part of the funky, ultracool hotel called Palihouse—is perfect for a hot LA night or nice lunch with friends.

The Food:
In LA, Collins quickly acquainted himself with the famed Santa Monica Farmers’ Market. Access to the amazing assortment of quality fruits and vegetables gives him the inspiration for much of his edgy brasserie fare, which changes seasonally and utilizes as many local ingredients as possible. Signature dishes include venison with wild quinoa, ahi tuna with pommes boulangére and the Blossom beignet.

The Vibe:
The Hall’s eclectic
interior is a mix of New Orleans-style brasserie and warm European ambience with modern LA accents. Eat in or dine al fresco in the charming open-air courtyard. Or get comfy for a nightcap in one of the mini living room vignettes.

Stay for the Night:
The Hall is in the lobby of the stylish Palihouse Holloway owned by Avi Brosh and designed by his Palisades team. The all-suite hotel offers guests California apartment-style rooms with a boutique hotel feel.
