To Market, To Market

Farmers Market

You'll find arts and crafts vendors and fresh produce on a Saturday morning at the farmers market.

Tucked between the Guthrie Theater and the Mill City Museum, Minneapolis’ Mill City Farmers Market is the first in the city to focus on the green trifecta of local, sustainable and organic produce. That emphasis is due in large part to local chef Brenda Langton—owner of nearby Spoonriver and Cafe Brenda—who helped found the market in 2006.

Saturday mornings find the market bustling with energy, with live music, friendly crowds and great views of the Mississippi River. The market has a wide array of vendors, so you can pick up all-natural tea, smoked trout, hand-knit hats and clothes made from recycled fabrics all in one visit. Grab food for later or graze as you go: There’s coffee, single-serving tarts, egg sandwiches and more.
Held every Saturday May 9–Oct. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mill City Farmers Market, Second Street South and Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, 612-341-7580
