The site of the 1972 Summer Olympics, this park has seen better days, but is still worth the trip. Take a dip in the same pool American swimmer Mark Spitz won his seven gold medals. Daredevils may opt for the Rooftop and Flying Fox tour high above Olympic stadium, climbing, repelling and ziplining from the tented roof that towers over the enormous building. For an unparalleled view without the adrenaline rush, visit the restaurant atop the 951-foot-tall Olympic Tower. The park also offers a 105,000-plus gallon tropical aquarium with more than 8,000 sea creatures—including sharks, turtles and an octopus named Otto. Of course, the park is probably most known as the site of the devastating 1972 Munich massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes and a German police officer lost their lives at the hands of a Palestinian terror group. Visit the memorial at the park’s northwest corner.
