Like Daryl Dixon, his character on The Walking Dead, actor norman reedus has an affinity for motorcycles. He was hit with the biking bug at 13. “I had a friend who had a YZ80 [dirt bike], and we kind of took turns on it,” he says. “It was a thrill instantly for me.” With Walking Dead on hiatus, Reedus has been able to pursue what he calls “dream job No. 2!”—documenting his crosscountry travels by bike for the AMC show Ride with Norman Reedus, which finishes airing this month. In it, Reedus pairs up with a different riding partner each episode—Peter Fonda and Robert Rodriguez both make appearances—to explore biker culture. “We experience the journey together, taking the audience with us,” Reedus says. “It’s such a blast of a show.”

The Spotted Cat Music Club
This jazz club features live performances every night of the week. “The focus is just pure music and soul; you can’t beat it.” Arrive early if you want to get a seat.

13 Monaghan
“They have the best ‘tachos.’ Go for the Srirachos [tater tots topped with chicken, cheese, jalapeños, cilantro and Sriracha ranch dressing]; your mouth will thank you.”

Electric Ladyland Tattoo
This tattoo parlor is known for its friendly and über professional staff. “[It’s] the best place to get a tattoo in NOLA. The creativity in this place is unreal.”

The Dragon’s Den
“[This is a] great after-hours spot. The walls are red and lined with broken mirrors; there’s tons of character and always an interesting crowd.”
