Executive chef and owner John Gorham pays homage to Spain with tapas dishes like fried green tomatoes with pickle mayonnaise, braised green beans with tomato, jamón and crème fraîche butter and grilled shrimp. The wine list includes bubbly cava and a nice assortment of wines from Spain. While the eatery can sometimes be loud and crowded, Toro Bravo is a great place for socializing. Besides, dishes like the manchego burger, salt cod fritters, empanadas with chili braised beef and Moroccan tuna with dried cherry couscous will make you say “olé!” No reservations except for parties of seven or more.

"We want you to visit our State of Excitement often. Come again and again. But for heaven's sake, don't move here to live. Or if you do have to move in to live, don't tell any of your neighbors where you are going." —Governor Tom McCall, 1971 interview
