Set in the foothills of Mount Spokane, Green Bluff is the place to go if you’re looking to pick your own fruit or vegetables, or even if you just want to experience Spokane’s strong network of community farms. The Green Bluff Growers’ Association began in 1902 as a stalwart advocate of local strawberry growers, and since then it has been running independently providing U-Pick lavender and U-Cut Christmas trees, a winery, antiques, an alpaca ranch and a landscape nursery, among the bluff’s other farm activities. Even if you’re not much of an apple picker or corn maze navigator, the close proximity of Mount Spokane, lush walking trails and monthly festivals provide the backdrop for a quintessential farm country afternoon. And if you’re still unconvinced, the aroma (and taste) of freshly baked pies will likely impress your appetite.
