Lay of the Land

The Spokane International Airport (GEG), the second largest airport in Washington, is 5 miles west of downtown. Spokane is approximately 271 miles east of Seattle, 110 miles south of the Canadian border and about 20 miles from the Washington-Idaho border. Because of Spokane’s close proximity to Idaho and Canada, border crossing opens up even more possibilities to experience the inland region’s natural beauty. The Hiawatha Trail, with its miles of retired railroad lines that run through to Montana and offer scenic views at every turn, is a popular biking destination, as is Lake Coeur d’Alene.
