Oktoberfest gets all the press, but March in Munich is just as much fun. Celebrate Fasching, or Mardi Gras, followed by Starkbierzeit—a Lenten festival honoring strong beer. Prost!

Dinner // Paulaner am Nockherberg
Celebrate the start of Starkbierzeit—Strong Beer Season—with a Paulaner Salvator, but start here with a base of Bavarian staples such as steak with béarnaise sauce. Or try a plate of Obatzda (a Bavarian cheese dish) at Der Hofbräukeller.
