For Outlander fans, next month’s season three premiere on Starz can’t come soon enough. TV’s hottest couple, Jamie and Claire Fraser, find themselves separated by time and space after Claire travels to 1948, ending up in Boston. Jamie remains in 18th-century Scotland, where he has unexpectedly survived a battle but lost the woman he loves. “He has to come to terms with losing her and has no reason to live,” says Sam Heughan, 37, who plays Jamie. “Over time, he finds a new life and moves on.” But fret not, Outlander faithful! Twenty years later, Claire returns to the past to recover what the couple lost. “You can imagine a lot has changed in their relationship,” says Heughan. “However, ultimately, they are still the characters that fell in love.”

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
“The museum is free and one of the most popular in the U.K. It hosts international and local exhibits, from local genius Alasdair Gray to the popular Jack Vettriano.”

This restaurant across the street from Artisan Roast “is a sweet spot to meet friends—and the bar is dog friendly. They do a mean nasi goreng [fried rice] that’ll satisfy a hungry hill walker.”

Glasgow Botanic Gardens
“These gardens in the West End flank the river and are an ideal spot for picnics. During the summer, they host outdoor Shakespeare productions at the festival Bard in the Botanics.”

Artisan Roast
“Along [Kelvin] Walk-way, under a bridge and up the steps at Woodlands Road, there’s a small huddle of shops and bars. Artisan Roast has the best coffee in Glasgow and great people watching!”
