The opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games has me stoked! The world’s most talented athletes parading into the stadium carrying their nation’s colors, while the Olympic fanfare resonates off the walls, gives me goose bumps! Seriously, I am a sucker for this stuff.
Well, that and I always love to see what each country will be wearing! For the 2010 Games, iconic sportswear designer Ralph Lauren is in charge of all things Americana for Team USA. He has designed garb for both opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the athlete’s clothes for kickin’ it in Olympic Village. The aesthetic is a preppy and nostalgic blend of navy, red and white with plenty of American flags mixed in and even a reindeer emblazoned sweater for good measure.
What can we expect Team USA to be wearing? Perfectly patriotic, RL’s parade uniform consists of a cotton fleece pant, a navy and red down jacket, a cable turtleneck and a wool hat adorned with the American flag.
