This is a must for those seeking the tongue-in-cheek, kitschy fun that gives Hampden its fame. The décor is a riot of leopard print, feather boas and hot pink velour. Peruse the menu (with a pink plastic flamingo looking over your shoulder) and find American comfort foods—from cheeseburgers to meatloaf—with large portions at reasonable prices, and a full bar. Expect friendly service from hometown waitresses, who toss the word “hon” around liberally.
