Inaugurated on May 16, 1932, the Louisiana Capitol Building is a 34-story, 450-foot skyscraper made of Alabama limestone with Art Deco details that were prevalent during the time period. Besides enjoying the incredible history and wonderful explanation of how Huey Pierce Long got the new building constructed (and how he eventually died there), as well as the magnificent interior spaces, make sure you ascend to the Observation Deck to take in the breathtaking views of Baton Rouge.
