Lay of the Land

The South End: It has seen the most growth and vibrancy in terms of new restaurants, stores, and most of the art galleries have moved to this area. Don’t miss the Sunday open market with farm stands, food, top quality crafts, antiques (May 1-October 31). Thayer Street: Splurge at the art galleries on Thayer Street to meet a lot of artists and pick up something to remind you of your visit and support the artists' community. Cambridge: An easy ride on the red line to Harvard Square, Cambridge is a fun place for dining, shopping and walking around. You can take a tour of one of the oldest university campuses in the country, Harvard University, and catch a play at the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.).
