This place is literally explosive. The Rocking R was an institution from Bozeman’s cowboy past until 2009, when an ignited gas leak destroyed the entire block. Reopened in summer 2011, the new Rocking R maintains the boots-and-shotglasses feel in a spacious new room. Billiards are big here, as is college football on the weekends and occasional rock bands. College kids mingle with older regulars, and the place can get pretty rowdy on weekends.
