This large bookstore resides in the decorative digs of the newly restored Párizsi Nagyáruház (Paris Department Store), an Art Nouveau building that once housed the city’s first department store. Under dramatic stairways and a high glass ceiling, you can now browse from everything from contemporary fiction by famous writers like László Krasznahorkai to “Vilmos és Kate,” a Hungarian account of the recent British Royal Wedding. You’ll even find a few English titles. Drop by the in-house wine boutique for a tightly curated selection of vintages from Villa Tolnay and other excellent local wineries. And don’t miss the opulent café on the second floor, with its stunning frescoes and tasty espresso drinks.
