Located on the Allegany Indian Reservation, this small tribal museum has new and permanent exhibits on display that offer a general look at the culture and heritage of the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy: the Seneca, Oneida, Mohawk, Onondaga, Cayuga as well as the Tuscarora. A small but interesting museum, it’s worth the trip to view the reproduction of a longhouse, collection of cornhusk dolls, moccasins, and bead and basketwork. And don’t miss “This Is Where We Walked,” an exhibit exploring the devastation the Seneca people experienced after they were moved off their land for the construction the Kinzua Dam in 1965.
