We know what you’re thinking—and no, there are no pre-teen superstars or cartoon characters bouncing around here. The Nickelodeon is a small, 75-seat historic theater in downtown Columbia on the corner of Main and Pendleton Streets, right next to the University of South Carolina. “The Nick,” as it’s often lovingly called, has been in operation since 1979 and is home to two film screenings each evening, as well as an additional matinee show time three days a week. As the only non-profit art house film theatre in South Carolina, this intimate movie house is the best place in town to catch an indie flick or a documentary with a nice cold beer or glass of wine in hand.
