Fun Facts

The Lone Star state is home to more than 25 million people, making the origin of its name fitting. Tejas is the Spanish pronunciation of a Caddo Indian word, which means “friendship” or “allies.” Nearly 1.3 million people call Dallas—the third largest city in Texas—home, while 26 million people visit the city annually. Fort Worth is a bit smaller, although it claims the title of 16th largest city in the U.S., with a population of about 741,200, and attracting 7.5 million visitors annually.
