A full moon is the ultimate time to experience the true beauty of the native prairie of eastern Colorado at Plains Conservation Center. The guided full-moon walk offered by the rangers at Plains Conservation Center introduces visitors to the geography, biology and history of the prairie, but the real draw is the silvery glow of moonlight on the tall grass. There are themes to each full-moon walk: June is Grass Moon, July is Thunder Moon, August is Heat Moon, September is Falling Leaf Moon and October is Harvest Moon. Note that reservations are required.
