Tour one of Fayetteville’s most famous homes and step back in time. Built by Judge Jonas Tebbetts in 1853, this white, stately home survived the Civil War and still features original furniture, accessories and a breathtaking garden. The house played host to The Battle of Fayetteville, which was fought right on the front lawn and earned nearby College and Dickson Street the name “Bloody Corner”—when entering the house, try to spot the scar of a minie ball which struck the home during the battle. The house is also home to the Washington County Historical Society, which hosts tours and community events such as Statehood Day celebrations, Battle of Fayetteville Commemoration and an annual ice cream social.
