When it opened on Halloween night in 1927, The Carolina Theatre was billed as “The Showplace of the Carolinas.” Originally a vaudeville theater, it has diversified over the years to become one of Greensboro’s principal performing arts centers showcasing a range of theater, dance, film and music. Each year, the Carolina Theatre welcomes 90,000 visitors to enjoy today’s top performers within the rich ambiance of an earlier era.
