A true American icon, writer Mark Twain wrote some of his most important stories at his home in Hartford including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Prince and The Pauper. The Mark Twain House & Museum celebrates this time that he and his family spent in Hartford from 1874 to 1891. The beautiful 25-room home includes a dramatic grand hall, exquisite library and the billiard room where Twain wrote his books. 2010 marks the centennial year of his passing so you can expect lots of special events and celebrations, along with the popular guided tours of the beloved author’s home.
