The fragrant Spice Bazaar with its cornucopia-like stalls overflowing with saffron, sugar-sprinkled Turkish delight, honeycombs, Iranian and Russian caviar and olives does seem somewhat more “real” than the Barnum-worthy Grand Bazaar. There’s a butcher or two and a shop purveying beautiful cheeses and a decidedly less aggressive vibe to the sales staff. Stock up on jasmine or green apple tea and maybe some pistachios then catch your breath.
