History and music share the stage at the restored Florida Theatre, one of the last remaining movie palaces in Florida. The Florida Theatre has been a landmark in Jacksonville since 1927 and presents more than 200 cultural and entertainment events each year. It began with Vaudeville acts and silent films, and today the venue hosts a range of performances from country and rock, to dance and spoken word.
