Fern Tree Spa offers rest and relaxation focused on wellness and healing.
The latest addition to storied Jamaican resort
Half Moon—where boldface names like Clark Gable, John and Jackie Kennedy, and Joan Crawford once cavorted in whitewashed Georgian-style villas—is the lavish 68,000-square-foot
Fern Tree Spa, which opened late last year.
Treatments here are focused on healing and wellness using time-honored local traditions and ingredients like lemongrass, pimento, Blue Mountain coffee and cerasee, a citrus fruit with anti-inflammatory properties.
For full immersion in the Jamaican spirit, guests can arrange consultations with a “spa elder”—a therapist/consultant versed in indigenous ingredients and healing—to customize a treatment program.
While the entire resort lends itself to relaxation, the spa area is a world of its own. Inside are landscaped gardens, plunge pools, covered walkways, a sculpture garden, koi pond, yoga pavilion, walking labyrinth and a café serving spa cuisine. Dedicated spa aficionados can even book one of Half Moon’s new oceanfront spa suites, which come with private treatment rooms and fitness studios.
