Kauai’s temperature is remarkably consisitent, ranging between 75 and 85 degrees year-round. Most residents of Kauai do not even own sweaters and warm jackets, as they are never needed. Hurricane Iniki struck Kauai with extreme force on September 11, 1992, decimating many of the island’s buildings, including 1400 houses and many major resorts. Rebuilding took many years, and even today residents will describe areas as having recently been rebuilt post-Iniki.
