Keeneland draws celebrities from the world over at race time. Actor William Shatner raises American Saddlebreds on a farm west of Lexington called Belle Reve. (He also shows horses!) Luxurious private jets often spotted at the airport attest to Middle East royalty with farms outside of town. Looking back a little further, First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln grew up here, and president of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis attended college here at Transylvania.
