Sunset Boulevard
“Don’t miss the Crossroads of the World. Built in 1936 in the center of Hollywood, it was originally a swanky retail shopping center but today serves as a quiet office complex. Each building represents a different architectural style. Director Tim Burton once had offices here.”
“Heading west on Sunset, you pass Pacific Palisades, now the zip code of stars such as Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, but once the ranch and home of humorist Will Rogers,” Lynch says. “After his death, Rogers’ enormous parklike estate was donated to the State of California.”
“My favorite hotels are on Sunset, including Sunset Tower Hotel, where Howard Hughes lived. My favorite restaurant is the Tower Bar. My husband [screenwriter Mitch Glazer] and I are almost always seated at table 74,” says Lynch, who also loves Chateau Marmont and the Beverly Hills Hotel.
