Louisville was founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark and is named after King Louis XVI of France. Just over a million people make their home in the Louisville metropolitan area. Ninety-five percent of the world’s bourbon is produced in Kentucky. The largest collection of Victorian homes in the United State is located in Old Louisville.
