It’s a known fact that there are as many angles to any story as there are individuals to tell them. With this Memphis institution, we contend that some views are quirkier than others. For a down-home taste of the great American dream, take a tour in the American Dream Safari Cadillac and soak in the fact that you’re touring southern style. Tad Pierson is the mastermind behind the safaris. He who believes that those travelers in search of cultural exposure, language and historical perspectives can do no wrong if they happen to find the lonesome wail of a distant freight train or the sting of a blues guitar in a hot juke joint along the way. Be forewarned: his mastery of Memphis’ hopping history is keen but the caddy has been known to go caput (fortunately on that day the car decided to quit next to a junkyard where it could immediately be repaired). Tomfoolery aside, you’ll learn a great deal about the decades that have brought Memphis to where it is today, and if you’re lucky, you’ll be cruising the streets the day Al Green pulls up next to you at a traffic light and waves!
