Graceland is great fun, but The National Civil Rights Museum is not to be missed. The Museum is located in the former Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, and provides a meticulous and powerful account of the American civil rights movement. Call 901-521-9699 for details.
May is festival month in Memphis. There’s the Beale Street Music Festival, the Barbecue Cooking Contest, the Sunset Symphony and a varied schedule of educational programming for kids and adults. It’s a great time to visit.
