Transportation 101

The airport code for Minneapolis-St. Paul is MSP, and it’s 16 miles from Minneapolis and 9 miles from St. Paul. Metro Transit operates an extensive network of bus lines that link the airport with the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs. The Hiawatha Line Light Rail began operations in 2004 and should prove an effective jumping-off point for more public transportation services. The skyway system in the Twin Cities is unique—it unfolds within miles of indoor, elevated glass walkways that connect the entire Minneapolis downtown area and protect the business community from the cold.
