The Varsity Theater opened in 1915 as a vaudeville theater, then transformed into an Art Deco-period movie theater, and after a short stint as an early ‘90s nightclub, it is now one of the Midwest’s best venues for live music, theater and dance. The Varsity’s interior, decorated with velvet couches and Persian rugs, is a stunning, yet intimate background to match the theater’s top-notch sound and lighting system. This Dinkytown establishment has hosted a wide variety of artistic talent, including Feist, Amy Winehouse, Pete Yorn, and O.A.R. (and will even host your next event or wedding).
