Chef Steven Brown’s pitch-perfect menu teems with modern takes on comfort food. The potted meat starter (a superb marriage of a rillette and a terrine) and fish torta (fried fish, creamy peppadew slaw, corn chips, cilantro and lime never tasted so good) are always sure bets, but you pretty much can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. They don’t do reservations, so go during off-peak hours or expect a wait.
