“I have a thing about stamps, I like to have the right stamp for the right note. The liberty bell is OK for bills, but it’s not a good personal correspondence stamp.”  U.S. Post Office.

Adorama keeps shutterbugs happy. “I keep salivating over their gorgeous quality cameras, but am not allowed to purchase one until this summer. I have grounded myself for losing so many.”

City Bakery is a great spot for a cup of hot chocolate and a croissant. “I like to stop in every now and again for a pretzel croissant and a strawberry lemonade.”

“One of my favorite stores in Manhattan is A.I. Friedman—they call themselves the department store for creative people. There’s a lot of fun stuff in there: art supplies, frames, drafting tables.”
BLT Fish
Not exactly on 18th, but nearby on 17th Street is Laurent Tourondel’s BLT Fish. “I always think I’m going to get oysters on the half shell but end up getting something really fried,” March says.
Fisch for the Hip
Hermès scarves, Louis Vuitton luggage and other finds await at Fisch for the Hip consignment. “I’m too tall to wear a lot of vintage,” March admits. “They make clothes bigger now.”
Barneys CO-OP
Fashionistas head to funky Barneys CO-OP, the “wayward offspring of Barneys New York,” where March says she can always count on finding great jeans and heels.
Krup's Kitchen & Bath
March bought her first and only washer and dryer at Krup’s Kitchen & Bath. “If you live in New York, you know how amazing that is.”

Books of Wonder
“Books of Wonder has a wonderful selection of children’s literature and really knowledgeable salespeople.”

This spring, Stephanie March made many fans happy when she reprised her role as tough assistant district attorney Alexandra Cabot on Law & Order: SVU, but you might also recognize her from cameos on her husband Bobby Flay’s shows on the Food Network. She started out on Broadway in Death of a Salesman and will appear in the movie This Side of the Truth with Ricky Gervais this fall. March and Flay live in a converted duplex in Chelsea, and she says West 18th Street in the Flatiron District is the “unsung hero of streets” in Manhattan. “It’s close to my apartment and full of useful things I can get to on foot,” she says. “The big advantage of living in New York is that you can walk everywhere.”
