Norfolk is part of Hampton Roads, a large metro area in southeastern Virginia. Considered America’s birthplace, it is home to Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement, and to Colonial Williamsburg.
Norfolk was established as a British colony in 1619. Modern-day Norfolk is home to nearly a quarter-million people.
