Lay of the Land

One third of the state’s population is located in Oklahoma City’s metro area. The city spans a whopping 625 acres. Here are a few popular areas not to miss! Bricktown: Downtown OKC is dubbed “Bricktown” thanks to its old-fashioned brick streets. It underwent a huge revitalization campaign and is now the city’s dining and entertainment hot spot. Bricktown Canal runs through the district so hop a water taxi and explore the area by boat. Stockyards City: If you want to get a sense for the Old West, Stockyards City (adjacent to downtown) is known as the Western district with 70 businesses focused on western apparel and gear along with dining and entertainment that caters to the cowboy spirit in all of us. Nichols Hills and The Village: These twin communities are the most exclusive and upscale in the city. You’ll find the finest shopping in this northwest district. The Paseo: This northern district is home to numerous galleries and studios and gives off a Spanish vibe.
