With more than 80 golf courses in the greater Orlando area, you are guaranteed to get a tee-time somewhere in the vicinity. Orlando is also home to the famed Lake Nona and Isleworth Golf and Country Clubs where the top members of the golf world live and play the links. Each year, they play each other as teams in the Tavistock Cup, an event so exclusive that tickets aren’t available to the public, but are given to charities to sell for fundraising purposes. Past players have included Tiger Woods, Ben Curtis and Graeme McDowell.
Spring break takes place in the latter part of March and early April. This is usually Orlando’s busiest time, so check the calendar before you plan your trip. If you are traveling during this time and want to visit the theme parks, make sure to inquire about fast or express passes. For example, if you stay at a Universal hotel, your room key acts as an express pass, allowing you to skip the long lines at all the Universal theme parks.
