Philadelphia is 1.5 hours from New York and 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C. The city is serviced by Philadelphia International Airport and Amtrak. Center City is Philadelphia’s downtown area, where most of the historic sites are located. It’s on a compact grid system spanning 25 blocks between the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers, and interspersed with five big leafy squares. Streets that run north and south are numbered.
