This old-fashioned ice cream and soda fountain shop clings tightly to a turn-of-the-century script. Staff scoop homemade ice cream in classic soda jerk uniform: white shirt, white apron and bow tie. There’s a pressed-tin ceiling overhead and a mosaic penny-tile floor underfoot. The sundaes are served in vintage glass boats. Even the hot fudge is churned in antique copper candy kettles. The Franklin Fountain really buzzes in the evening, when Old City partiers are known to queue up for a sweet pick-me-up.
