Becky’s is a heritage place down on the working end of the waterfront, the kind of comforting diner where it’s still cute that the menu says “chowdah.” What chowder it is, too. Becky’s is justifiably famous for its seafood, delivered fresh in the afternoons by the same fishermen who fill the place for breakfast at 4 a.m. You can’t leave Portland without having a lobster roll here.
