At the northern edge of the Portland metro, stately Brunswick boasts a solid dining scene of its own. The standout kitchen is Trattoria Athena, a casual and homey powerhouse of creative and rustic Greek/Italian fare. The must-visit (and must-reserve) night is Sunday, when the couple-dozen patrons who fit inside eat family-style from five prix-fixe courses posted on a giant chalkboard. Braised wild boar and stuffed Mediterranean bass are among the many reasons this place is worth the drive.
