Founded more than 25 years ago and located in a cozy old house rather than a sterile modern storefront, Sundance is the anchor of Reno’s literary community. And unlike many indie bookstores that can no longer afford to do so, Sundance has a decent selection of used books as well as new. Visiting authors always stop by Sundance for readings, and the store puts out book lists, runs books groups and even holds receptions for local presses such as the University of Nevada Press. The staff also does a show on local radio station KTHX offering book news and reading suggestions.
