The Statue of Christ is the most enduring symbol of Rio de Janeiro and is one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World.” The statue is 2,300 feet above sea level, and stands 98 feet tall, with a 26-foot base. Elevators and escalators with jaw-dropping panoramic views will take you to the foot of the statue, or you can hoof it up the 220 steps.
