Transportation 101

A car rental is highly recommended so you can take advantage of everything to see in San Diego’s outskirts. As far as public transit, the best options are the San Diego Trolley, which loops around downtown and the Coaster, a commuter train, runs regularly up the scenic coast from the downtown San Diego train station to the beach towns of northern San Diego County. Taxis are hard to come by so plan accordingly.
